ImmuneRegen® BioSciences Signs Material Transfer Agreement with University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey

World leader in stem cell research to test effect of drug candidate Homspera™ on immune system component

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - April 1, 2008 -ImmuneRegen BioSciences, Inc., a wholly owned biotechnology product development and licensing subsidiary of IR BioSciences Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB:IRBO), today announces a material transfer agreement with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). ImmuneRegen will ship its drug candidate Homspera™ to UMDNJ’s eminent stem cell researcher, Professor Pranela Rameshwar, Ph.D., for testing the compound’s effect in stimulating stem cell activity of human bone marrow.

Dr. Rameshwar will lead the examination of Homspera’s effects on human adult bone marrow stem cells and its potential ability to stimulate hematopoiesis and strengthen the immune system. She is an internationally recognized hematology expert at the UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School, Division of Oncology/Hematology and is also a valued member of ImmuneRegen’s scientific advisory board.

Dr. Rameshwar’s doctoral thesis was on Substance P, a polypeptide that functions as a neurotransmitter and neuromodulator. Her post-doctoral studies and research conducted as a university professor, results of which have been published in nearly 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, continue to illustrate the regenerative potential of Substance P. Noting the structural and pharmacological similarity of Homspera to Substance P, she said, “We believe this line of inquiry will further our knowledge of Homspera’s potential regenerative effects in the human body and possibly move us closer to developing treatments that stimulate the human immune system.”

Said Michael Wilhelm, ImmuneRegen’s president and CEO, “Earlier studies have shown that Homspera has a positive impact on stimulating hematopoiesis in human, adult stem cells. This partnership with UMDNJ allows us to augment those studies with further research as we explore practical applications for Homspera.”
